“Better Quality of Life for ASEAN Migrant Workers through Strengthened Social Protection”

Employers’ Confederation of Thailand was invited to attend and be part of the 9th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour (AFML) on 8-10th November 2016 in Lao Plaza Hotel in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

The Seminar “Better Quality of Life for ASEAN Migrant Workers through strengthened Social Protection” hosted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, with support of the ASEAN Secretariat, ILO, IOM, UN Women and the Taskforce on ASEAN Migrant Workers (TFAMW).

The AFML provides an open platform for review, discussion and exchange of best practices and ideas between governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations and civil society stakeholders on issues facing migrant workers in South East Asia. Every AFML meeting develops recommendations to advance the implementations of the principles of the ASEAN Declaration on Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers. (Cebu Declaration).
