Equal rights for foreign workers
Recently meeting was held by the Ministry of Labour emphasized mainly in Principles of equality without discrimination which they aim to provide equal rights and legal protection both foreign and Thai workers.
Currently, they are in the process of adapting multilingual media to advise and educate the legal rights of workers in Thailand regardless of their nationality.
Both Thai and foreign workers will receive equal rights or without prejudice namely fair wages, good welfare, and also states that all workers are free from employment according to the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare (DLPW) who is responsible in providing safe and fair working environment to all workers.
In addition to that, multimedia resources covering, safety, hygiene and working environment for construction was produced in Thai, English, Myanmar, Lao, Cambodian, and Vietnamese language for them to fully understand their rights and legal protection.
All of this is covered and in accordance with the Labour Protection Act BE 2541.
The DLPW is harmonizing with the Labour Rights Promotion Network (LPN) in exchange of information in regards to unfair treatment to workers in order to boost and develop the coverage of labour protection.
